Ugh. Guilty as charged - at least I have been in the past. It takes a lot of time working and getting good results to overcome the "guilt" you feel charging $150/hr., even though you know every hour shooting means five to ten hours of outside work. I've given away so many hours of my hard work - thanks for putting it in a new light for me so that I can charge enough to do a proper job!

This post outlines some of the reasons I have not become a professional photographer. Well said, Joshua. The other aspect I'd mention is that when you are being paid, you have an obligation to 'get the shot'. An experienced professional knows a lot of ways to make that happen and to work around problematic situations with lighting, weather, etc.
